I wish I could help you.  Knockbride is a large parish which is divided into two church areas East & West.  It would be a joy if you knew which side and also the townland from where he came.  If you look at https://cavantownlands.com/knockbride-parish/ you will see a list of townlands, as you read these names, I wonder would any of them jog a deep memory of a saying or a word that would resonate with any of these places.  As you track him through the census in England, was he always a tailor?  Lynch was a very common name in Knockbride and they had nicknames to distinguish the different families, indeed there were a couple of families known as the Tailor Lynches.  Kent is a long way to travel from Co. Cavan, I wonder why he went that far?  Blackburn on the other hand was an industrial centre and I have located quite a number of people that went there and worked in the textile industries.  There is a lack of records in Ireland pre 1864, however wit a lot of time and diligence, those brickwalls can be broken through, Roots Ireland has some church records but again there are gaps.  Available for Knockbride are Births 1835 - 1920, Marriages1835 - 1920, Deaths 1864 - 1895.  What you have to do is to try and find a family member that takes you within those dates.  You mention his cousin, what is the name and dates, this may be your big clue, I hope they are a lot younger!
