Looking for anyone who may have a connection to this family. John Lyons (farmer) and Mary Mulcairn had a son James Lyons, James married Sarah McBride, whose parents were Michael McBride and Mary McDermid.
James and Sarah had the following children, Michael, James, John, Margaret, Patrick and Charles. I have copies of the baptism records for John (Joannes) baptised 25 April 1847, Patrick (Patricius) baptised 25 April 1850 and Charles(Carolus) baptised 9 January 1853. These were recorded in the county of Donegal, Parish/District of Killygordon for the demonination of Roman Catholic.. A researcher noted the records were from the Roman Catholic Donaghmore (Derry Diocese) I have not found any records on the birth of the other children, Michael born c1841, James born c1845, Margaret born c1845. Nor the marriage of the parents James and Sarah. Although the naming pattern doesn't seem to be quiet correct, maybe there was another John born earlier and died. This family left Ireland probably in the late 1850's, for Glasgow, Scotland, where I first pick them up in the 1861 Census. James Snr. died on 25 September 1862 in Partick, Glasgow. Sarah died on 11 November 1886 in Partick Glasgow.
Michael married Catherine McPhee, from Islay, Argyleshire, not sure when he died (after 1911 census)
Margaret married William Crossan, she died 25 December 1880 in Glasgow.
John married Ann Nichol, he died 25 September 1890 in Glasgow
Patrick married Annie Reilly/Riley, don't when or where he died.
Do not know anything about James and Charles.

Geordie61:
The baptismal records for Donaghmore parish start in November 1840 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0362 I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and like your researcher only located the three records you listed. Likely James and Sarah were in another parish before coming to Donaghmore parish.

Geordie61:
I should have clarified that the other parish did not have records available. Almost all Co. Donegal RC parishes do not have records before 1850 with Donaghmore being one of the few parishes with pre1850 records. I will check to see if there are any records for this family in Co. Tyrone.

I checked and there were no baptismal records for children of James Lyons and Sarah McBride anywhere in Ireland. Also, no marriage records available either.
Have you considered DNA testing?

Thank you Roger for your replies.
I have done DNA testing with Ancestry and have managed to find DNA matches with John's descendants, and because of DNA testing I had at one time contact with a descendant of Patrick's. As to Margaret's descendants I was able research more on her, and did contact a DNA match, but unfortunately they did not respond to my message (must try again) Michael is my great grandfather, my grandfather's father. I have been able to trace my grandfather's sisters family and am now in regular contact. I have found Michael in the in a few census, but just can't find his death. Charles and James are the elusive ones, as are the other births/baptisms and parents marriage.

Hi Geordie61,
Michael Lyons was my Great/Great grandfather. My grandmother, Catherine Lyon, was a daughter of James Lyon and Margaret Maxwell. Notice I have left off the "s". It seems from James on in this branch of the family they started calling themselves Lyon and not Lyons.
Catherine was born in 1900 in Partick. Some time between then and 1919 she and family moved to Sydney, Australia.I guess we are 3rd cousins once removed.
