My ancestor, Margaret Lee, was born on 17 August 1839, according to the 1901 Canadian census, Perth County, Ontario, Canada. She stated that she was born in Ireland with Scottish origins. I am only presuming that she was living in Northern Ireland and have no proof.
According to Margaret's words to her grandson, she stated that about 1853 she left Ireland for Canada and that she somehow stowed away on the ship, but was found by the captain late in the voyage. Unfortunately, the story doesn't include any information about her family members. I don't know if she traveled with family or not and have not been able to zero in on any family members to date, or gather any information about Margaret prior to her arrival in Canada.
She married James Rutherford on 1 Oct. 1855 in Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario. The family settled in Huron County, Ontario, Canada and there they raised five children -- Henry, James, George, John and Eliza (Lillie) Rutherford Boyd, wife of Newton James Boyd.
Without any more information than this, I know this is a long shot, but if there are any of her descendants that know more, I would love to hear from them and share what I have learned about her life after marriage.

Thank you for the links -- some I have visited and a couple were new to me.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about Margaret Lee's parents and siblings. Her Canadian death certificate stated she was born in Ireland. No parents' names were listed. I have just about all of the information I can find for her once she married her husband, James Rutherford -- census, cemetery, probate, etc.
Without her parents' names and county of origin, though, I cannot move back in time unless one of Margaret's descendants has more information and contacts me.
