my great great grandparents were married in Carnteen on 30jan1855. They are William Young and Mary Ann Lockhart. Any more info would be fantastic

    You can view the original marriage certificate on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

    https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

    You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

    Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church which should be on the certificate (unless it was a Registry Office marriage). That church may be the place to look for her baptism and that of any siblings.

    So if you post a copy of the certificate here, or transcribe the key information ie townlands (addresses), occupations, fathers names and occupations, we’ll try to tell you a bit more about the couple.

    I searched for children born to this couple in Northern Ireland 1864 – 1873 but didn’t find any. (Statutory birth registration only started in 1864).
