The subjects are my maternal 3 x great grandparents who had children born (according to English Census of 1851) as follows: -
Owen circa 1839
Patrick circa 1841
Mary Ann and Julia circa 1846
All above shown in the 1851 census of Sunderland with additional children born there from the year1851 onwards.
Also present in their home were the surnames of Fagan and Mahon with more Campbells shown as being from Kilkenny.

brynjon:
I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland but unfortunately I did find a marriage record or baptismal records for the four children with a mother named Mary McMahon.
However, I did find four records in the parish of Magheracloone where the father was Andrew Campbell and the mother was Mary Campbell.
Owen baptized february 1 1837
Patrick baptized October 4 1838
Mary baptized August 15 1841
Peter baptized January 19 1844
I also found a fifth record for a Judy Campbell baptized Mary 30 1845. The mother was shown as Rose Campbell
I'm wondering if these records are for your family?

Hi Roger, many thanks for that information. My only reference is via the UK Census where ages conflict from one year to the next, although the same families.
When the family were first recorded in 1851 they were all Oakum Teasers all adults and children down to age 6.
By 1861 Andrew had progressed to mason's Labourer, as had Owen now shown as aged 22 and Patrick also a mason's labourer aged 20. Mary aged 18 and Julia 15 were servants. Their other siblings were born in Sunderland Catherine 13, James 7 and Margaret were all scholars.
By 1871 Andrew 57 showing as a labourer, Owen 30, no sign of Patrick, Catherine is 20, Mary Ann has by now married Philip Daley (another of my Irish ancestors but from where I do not know - his father also Philip) and now we have some new names all born in Sunderland - James 18, Margaret 14, Mary Anne 2 and another Margaret at 3 months.
1881 - Andrew 66, Mary 69, Owen 40 (My x2 great grandmother) Mary Ann Daley 35, Lachering (I can only assume Catherine) 28, James 26 and some of the Daley offspring Mary Ann 12, Margaret 10, Elizabeth 7 and finally Catherine (my great grandmother aged 4.
