Looking for location & ancestor information on the following Garrity's:

Martin Garrity (my 4th great grandfather) Born about 1791 in Ireland. Died about 1871 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.  Arrival to Canada is about 1871.  Married to Mary Nevery.

Their Children:

John Garrity (my 3rd great grandfather).  Born about 1834 in Ireland.  Died 18 Apr 1891 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.  Married Catherine McQuaid 1 Aug 1854 in Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario, Canada at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral in Kingston.

Any Information on Catherine McQuaid would be wonderful as well.  She was Born about 1838 in Ireland.  Died 23 Oct 1887 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA.  

Her Parents:

William McQuaid Born about 1810 in possibly Dromore, Ireland.  Died 28 Mar 1856 in Kingston Fronteac County, Ontario, Canada.  Wife is Mary Ann O'Neill Born about 1811 in Ireland.  Died 14 Aug 1877 in Kingston, Fronteac County, Ontario, Canada.

    Does not have either Martin or John but it will give you an idea of the many ways the surname can be spelled. You will have to allow for all these variants while searching.


    Griffiths valuations does not list a single Garrity, but a few Gerrity. Unfortunately it searches for exact spelling matches unlike the site above which does a fuzzy search.(Exact and close matches as well as variants)
