I’ve been told that Mary Ann Corcoran is my 3rd great grandmother, born in Ballinakill in 1799 and baptized on 6 September 1799. She bore my great, great grandfather Matthew McEvoy on 16 October 1817 in Athy, County Kildare. It is reported that she married James McEvoy from Kilberry, County Kildare. Her marriage took place in a Mountmellick RC church on 25 February 1816. It is stated that a child named Mary was born in 1809 to one or both of these parents. Something doesn’t fit as Mary Ann would have been 10 years old at that time. I, personally, cannot verify any of the above although I may have access to some of these records on line. It is also reported that Mary Ann died in Drogheda in 1869. Could that refer to County Louth ?? I thought I saw mention of another Drogheda elsewhere in Ireland. Any help and direction would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I are traveling to the Laois and Kildare area on October 23rd, 24th and 25th of this year and I would dearly love to have some help from an Ireland XO volunteer. Thank you.
