Mary Ann McGowan was part of the "Earl Grey Plan" and was immigrated to Australia on the ship "Inchinnan" to Sydney arriving on the 20 February 1849 at the age of 16. She lists her parents as Daniel McGowan and Winnie, both deceased.

Onboard with her was Jane McGowan, age 16, daughter of Roger and Elizabeth, both deceased. I figure they may be cousins.

I found a baptism in Co. Leitrim for a Mary MacGowan for the 6th of October 1832 Kiltoghert RC with father as Daniel MacGowan and mother Elen MacWeeney. May or may not be my grandmother.

Mary Ann married Thomas Harvey on the 8th of April 1859 in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. They went on to have five children together. The first daughter Elizabeth Winnifred was born out of wedlock in 1857 with McGowan name. She took the Harvey name when Mary and Thomas married. Elizabeth Winnifred is my great grandmother. Thomas was working in the goldfields of Gulgong when Elizabeth met and married George Samuel Ragen in 1874.
