Hi,

My Great Grandmother Mary O'Brien was born in Doneraile 29 June 1856, her parents I beleive were Daniel Brien/O'Brien and Bridget Moylan or Malone.

I believe the family moved to London between 1865 and 1868.

I have found a number of Parish Chruch baptism records for the family : (see one attached)

Sarah – B 1846, Julia – b 1847, Daniel b 1848 but died 1859, Mary – b 1851 but died 1856, Mary again b 1856, Daniel again 1859, David b 1862, John b 1863 and Owen b 1865

A parish church marriage record for Daniel Brien and Bridget Moylan for 15th May 1845

Am I correct to assume these relate the Church on Main Street Doneraile?

I have one other record, Griffiths Valuation for 1851 for a Daniel Brien living at Tea Pot Lane Doneraile, I dont know if this is the right Daniel Brien but assuming it is and looking at old maps it looks to me that Tea Pot Lane was off Buttevant Lane which is now called Convent Road.....

I would be grateful for anyone with local knowledge to verify / add / change any of my details.

I have dna links to a Grandaughter of one of GG Grandmother sisters but both of us know little of the "Doneraile Brien's" - what they did there and why they left for London or if any of the family stayed behind in Ireland.

I will be visiting in September and would like to visit the correct church and area

kind regards

Brian

This link  https://doneraileparish.ie/our-parish/church-of-the-nativity-of-the-blessed-virgin-mary/  will take you to the web site for the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. If you hit the links on the left side, you will find the history of the church back to the late 1700s. All the records you located would be related to this parish.
