Hi,
trying to trace Matthew Logan, born abt. 1863 in Drumreilly, Leitrim. I have found his marriage and death records but have been unable to find any record for his birth, or his parent's marriage.
I believe his father was Thomas Logan (marriage and death register) and mother was Mary Creamer (from death register)

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The RC baptismal records for Drumreilly Lower RC parish start in 1867. Civil registration for births started in 1864. For someone like Matthew born in 1863, there would be no church or civil record of his birth/baptismal record. On the subscription site Roots Ireland, I did find civil record transcriptions for three younger siblings. See below. The family moved around and lived in three different townlands within Drumreilly civil parish. Did the entire family moved to Co. Fermanagh? By the way, the civil birth records images for the three siblings can be found at the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie

Hi Roger,
many thanks for your reply, that was very helpful. I found Matthew Logan's sibling's birth records on Irish Genealogy as you suggested.
From what I've discovered so far it looks like just Matthew Logan moved to Fermanagh (and later emmigrated to Scotland). I've now found both his parents death records, both in Garradice parish, Co. Leitrim. Margaret Logan was listed as present at her mother's death in 1897 in Garradice and married Thady Prior in Aughawillan Chapel, Baillinamore, Co. Leitrim. in 1899.
Is there any chance of finding any record of Thomas Logan (1826-1886) / Mary Creamer's (1830-1897) marriage or births in Co. Leitrim? I guess their marriage would have been between 1848 and 1863.
Regards,
Justin.

Justin:
Roots Ireland did not have the record and the marriage would have been pre-1864 when civil registration of RC marriages started. Likely they were married in Drumreilly Lower church and as I mentioned their records start in 1867.
