Hello! I am looking for information for my great-great-grandfather, Matthew McCoy. He was born in County Cork on July 9, 1841. His parents were Patrick McCoy and Judith Smith of Ireland. He immigrated to the United States possibly in 1848. He married Mary O'Dea from County Clare on April 22, 1867, at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio.
Thank you!

Kristina:
I searched on three different sites (Roots Ireland, FindMyPast and www.irishgenealogy.ie) and can find no record of a baptismal record for Matthew or a marriage record for his parents. Likely he was born in a parish that no longer has records back to 1841 or possibly he was born in the States.

Kristina,
Marriage in 1788 of Matthew McCoy should read "Eleonora Matthew", not as shown.

Kristina,
British Army Records - Patrick McCoy - birth Churchtown, Mallow, Co. Cork c1802.
Patrick appears to have been discharged from the army in Enniskillen in 1817.
Left hand page on part 2 records him receiving finance in relation to his move to Dublin, for himself and his wife.
Regards,
McCoy
