Maurice, born Tipperary, the son of Maurice and Ellen Gavan, arrived in Melbourne Austarlia in 1858, single.
He married Ellen Bullen in 1861 in Australia
His death is recorded as occuring in 1897 at Clonmel Tipperary .Ellen died in Victoria in 1907
I would like to find any details of his death in Ireland .
Thanks

Moranding:
See third record at this link https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…
Looks like he died at the medical facilities at the Clonmel workhouse. Cause of death appears to be Pneumonia.

Hi moranding,
Do you know what year Maurice returned to Ireland?
Using the death record of 1897 I have found records of him as a Pig Drover, a Drover etc.

I think I have him leaving Victoria about 1866 after his 3rd child was born
I found other refernces for Prison terms, and occupation cattledrover- which is possibly the work he did in Victoria.Later occuapation as tramp and no fixed address
Seems a rather sad story..I am resaerching for a friend - probably will just say- died Clonmel hospital and I will leave out the other detail
It looks as though some of his siblings also came to Victoria
Thankyou
