Barnabas McAllister baptised 1813 Donaghadee Parish Church. Links with Wigtownshire and Old Cumnock Scotland.

His grandparents names Brown and Lindsay? also Donaghadee

  • Links between Donaghadee and Wigtownshire are fairly common at that period because until the 1840s or thereabouts it was the main port for ferries between Ulster and Scotland (Portpatrick).

    I see several McAllisters in Donaghadee on Ros Davies site:

    Donaghadee Church of Ireland records start in 1771. Getting back earlier than that in Irish records will be challenging.
