Looking for information on Thomas and Mary McBride, had a son named Michael and unknown siblings.
Beleived Michael left Ireland for the US in the mid-late 1830's, His wife's name was Susan. They lived in Paterson New Jersey upon arriving in the states and later moved to Bridgeport Ct.
They had the following children - James, Susan,John, Henry, Rose, Mary,Charles, Martha. Some were borin in Ireland and some in the US.
Trying to find the names of the siblings of Michael & where in Ireland this McBride family is from.
Thanks for any help offered!

Hi Joe,
Mc Bride is a common name in Ireland , did you check the New Jersey census records to obtain an estimated birth year of Michael? Or a naturalisation or death record might give the details of his place of birth.
Any dates that you have would help
All the names are very common in Ireland, we need to scale the search down a bit first in order to find the family in Ireland.
A great free site for USA census records is www.familysearch.org
You can also try www.castlegarden.org for passenger records

Sorry about that, I should have posted that in my first message. Figuring his age from the US census he was born in 1805 and died in Bridgeport Ct on November 21 1883. His wife Susan was born in 1806 and date of death is unknown.
On a recent trip to Bridgeport I came across the record of his death which listed his parents as Thomas and Mary, but didn't give details as to where he is buried. I have written a request to the state library of Conneticut to see if more information in available.
My great grandmothers side is easy to follow as they came from county Mayo and kept good family records, but this side of the family is a real challange because of the popularity of the last name & the common first names.

Hi again,
Sorry i gave you extra work but I believe it did help, there was only one Thomas McBride born in Ireland to a father Thomas McBride but in 1801 instead of 1805. Possibly your Thomas as census records often only have an estimated year of birth.
This Thomas wasbaptised in 1801 Armagh parish , County Armagh , Roman Catholic
Source www.rootsireland.ie
I suggest to also post a message about Thomas McBride born 1801 on the Armagh parish page on our site , we have local volunteers who might be able to assist you further http://www.irelandxo.com/group/armagh-armagh
Hope this helps,

Good morning,
Lets roll this back a little.... Michael was the son born in 1805 according to US census records, His father was Thomas. Not knowing how many siblings Michael has, I have to guess that Thomas was born in/around 1770-1780. making him anywhere from 25 to 35 when Michael was born.

Hi again,
www.rootsireland.ie has another Michael McBride with father Thomas but this Michael is born in 1808 Cork and his name is just down as BRIDE. (could be an error) No mother mentioned .
Who of the children were born in Ireland maybe their births in combination with the parents names are easier to trace ?

Hi Annemarie,
Not sure if you still get these as I came across this again the other day. But the post goes back to 2012, its May of 2014 and I still haven't found my answer to this one. LOL I have been to our state capital a few times going through civil war records for my GG Grandfather.... HOPING it would list a place of birth.
Any record I've found for any member of this family is listed as Ireland or shortened to Ire. There is no specifics to county, town, etc
I've also made contact with a few very distant cousins and they dont know either, one cousin is in his mid 80's & to his knowledge and family lore he believes the family is from the Dublin area. No proof, just heresay.
