McBride Ireland to Shelbyville, Indiana

Hi,

In order to try and trace them back to Ireland it is important that you supply as much information as possible, do you have any dates for example?

There were a lot of McBrides who emigrated from Ireland and the more we know about them the bigger the chance that we can find the family in Ireland

Hi My great great grandparents David and Mary jane McBride came from Lisburn, County Down in 1848 . They settled in Shelbyville-Shelby County and David died sometimetime before 1860 leaving Mary Jane and 6-7 children. I have tracked most of her children. There was another McBride family here but have not found the connection. Would be glad to help by sending you any info I have or will look up (I work at the local library)

I have two names.  One is Dennis Jerome McBride.  I know this is grandparent was born in Ireland.  He had a sone and named him the same.  There are 5 Dennis McBrides now.  The second name is John McBride and I believe he is Dennis Jerome McBride's father. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ANNA b March 19 1884 who married William Buendert Aug 9 1910 She died in 1947

ELIZABETH

JAMES b Nov 1 1870  married Anna Clark Meek on May 3 1915 and James died Aug 18 1939

JOHN JR. b Aug 2 1868 and died Aug 24 1891 buried with parent St Joseph Cemetery

MARY (?) buried in same lot  1876-1918

John doesnt have obit.

Ellens obit mentioned sons James of Shelbyville, William of Deluth, Minn., Dennis of Nashville, Tenn and two daughters Mrs. Elizabth Sherman of Indianapolis and Mrs Will Buendert of Shelbyville

also found a Dominick McBride who married a Mary McTighe- a saloon owner-mentioned because of similar names.

These are not myMcBrides but I feel they must be related. The McBride lot is 2 down from my great grandmothers lot Sara Ann MCBride Gore in St. Joseph. Let me know if I can be of further help

I have an ancestor Ellen McBride who married James Judge in Nov 16 1861 (we think at St Vincent's)

I've been studying the McBride families from Shelbyville, Indiana in the hopes of finding more information about where Ellen and James came from.  What has been passed down, is one of them came from County Clare and the other from County Mayo - but nothing is in writing.

In my search, I've also found a Dominick McBride married a Mary McTighe Feb 8 1858

a John McBride who married Ellen McTyge Aug 26 1861, and a Thomas McTigh who married a Bridget Tilly Nov 25 1862.  

Dominick McBride and Maria McTighe marriage record found at St. John Catholic Church with Andrew Mcbride and Eleonor McTighe as witnessess.  As far as I can tell Dominick and Mary had children Anna born abt 1859, Thomas born abt 1860 Hattie and Dominick. Dominick Sr.died after 1870.  I found Mary living in Indianapolis, Indiana per the 1883, 1884 and 1885 City Directories at 11 Ellsworth. 

Ellen McBride widow of James Judge lived also at the 11 Ellsworth address in 1883.  I do not know my Ellen McBride was related to your John McBride  - similarity is religion Catholic.
