Hi,
I have previously done some research on ancestors from Canuig, Cahersiveen. I can go back as far as Daniel McCarthy who died in 1898 aged 80, I was wo during if anyone could point me in the right direction for the possibility of going back further. I realise the problems with records back then but perhaps someone might be able to help

Hi,
There are two townlands named "Canuig" in the area of Cahirciveen. One, the larger on the parish of Dromod and the other in the parish of Prior.
Griffith's Land Valuation for 1850 has a "Daniel McCarthy" in the townland of Canuig, parish of Dromod - see attached - for 1850.
What information have you in relation to marriage etc?
