Hello there sadly you have not given us a name and I don't wish to appear rude by calling you McCartney74, so I will just say "Hi"; I am Jennifer Jean and I am a volunteer with IrelandXo.
I am looking into your enquiry - until now, I have informattion but there is so very many families in the area and about the same time who had children of the same names and similar ages and the oly details that I hve of people leaving Ireland were from court hearings and the like. However, I will continue my searches and hope to come back with positive news within the next number of days.
Should you have any further news yourself, you might like to let us know but meantime I wish you Good Luck in your searching and wish you well

Hi I have been re-visitng your original request for information. now i am totally lost as there is three pages of John McCarthy listed for the Limerick area so I looked at the births for John in 1808-1810 as you said that he arrived in Sydney in 1839 age 30 years which makes him born in 1809 but I have about five opportunities.
Concerning a marriage between the two, there appears no record between 1812 - 1839 - however there is 1,813 of John McCarthy's listed as catholic weddings and about 60% of the partners are an Ellen all from the same years.
I was also a little concerned as the birth of the first child who came to Sydney was 13 years which means that she was born in 1826 and Eliza would only have been 14 years at most when she gave birth and you say that there was also a set of twins that they lefy behind born even earlier.
Can you look at this please and let me know your comments so that I can take another look.
Until I hear from you, I will not spend any further time but wish you all the very best in your search

Found the following info in my notes so thought I’d share with our group: Helena's great-grandfather's name is Jeremiah McCarthy, long and behold, close to the Widow Shanahan's and Maurice Shanahan's property in the Tithes Applotments of 1832 there is a Jeremiah McCarthy.
I tend to believe "Widow" could actually be "Margaret" as it appears her first and only daughter is "Margaret" who married David Mc.
I would almost betcha bottom dollar, Jeremiah is brother to my Eugene "Owen / John" McCarthy husband of Johanna "Anna" Griffin.
David McCarthy, son of "Owen / John" is the one who married Margaret Shanahan 28 Feb 1843, Killeedy Civil Parish. In 1849 Tenure Books David, Charles and John, sons of "Owen / John" transferred the lease of land from their father. "John" was crossed out of the Tenure Books and David, Charles and John names transferred the lease on 10 May 1849.
Now to find out when the land was transfered from brothers David, Charles and John and to whom?
