I am from Australia hoping to go further than what I have on my family tree, on the McGowan side I have a James McGowan b1810** d1864 and Margaret Gallagher b1810** d1875 in Leitrim Ireland, I’m not sure how many kids they had except I know there was Mary McGowan b1834, Miles McGowan b1838-1899 (married Isabella Pratt b1846 and from Cavan), Francis McGowan b1840-1900 and James McGowan, I know that they moved to Scotland after the kids were born,
Is anyone able to help me please?

Hello, Luke. When you said "they moved to Scotland after the kids were born" did you mean James McGowan & wife, Margaret? If so, did James die in Scotland? Scottish death certificates may have information about parents and origins of deceased person.
Do the asterisks beside 1810 y.o.b. for James and Margaret indicate that they are approximate?
Have you found baptisms for any of the children of James & Mary?
What religious denomination were they?

hi, I only just saw this, turns out they were all born in Ireland and James and Margaret has 5 kids Miles, Mary, catherine Francis and James
i think Margaret was born in galway and died in Londonderry
