Jimmy "The Hawk" Mcloughlin, (nicknamed "The Hawk" because of his sharp featured appearance), was married to Nora Daly from Rahan Bridge, Rahan. This marriage was the result of matchmaking. Jimmy was born around 1825 as shown on the census. They had 14 children, Mary Ann, the oldest, Kathie who died young, Lucy, Bridget, Nora, Agnes, Elizabeth, Peter who died aged 30 while living at home, Joe, Jim, Eugene, Tom and John who died as infants, and Angela who also died as an infant.
Jimmy "The Hawk" McLoughlin died around 1920 at the age of 95. It is thought that Nora died around 1928. If this is the McLoughlins family that you are looking for then we are connected. Some of the familly still live in the area and the old homested is still there. I will try and get further information for you.

Delighted to see your reply.
From our family history I see that
- Mary Ann married John Holien ? from Rahan.
- Kathie married a Grennan.
- Nora married a Flanagan.
- Elizabeth married Jim Gorman 11 and that is my connection.
- Agnes did not seem to marry but was cared for in the last years of her life by Bridge Gorman.
- Lucy and Bridget I'm not sure about.
I will try and find answers to your other question and get back to you.

I was just talking to a relation, and he tells me that Agnes was married to a Horan, but had no family. As I told you she then spent her final years with Bridge Gorman. He thinks also that some of the girls went to America. He is coming to visit me this week and I can find out more.
What is your connection to the McLoughlins, William. Do you know any Keegan connection to the O'Briens of Ballycommon. Can you give me any names to the Dunnes of Rahan as there are a few families of Dunnes living in Rahan and they are not connected.
A few months ago Agnes McLoughlin, died and she would have been of the older generation and full of information. She had a brother Dickie, (Richard) and he was married to a woman called Nora, I will try to get one of the McLoughlins themselves to connect with you as they would have more information than I have.
