McManus Family

Do you have any other information on the family that you could share? Information such as names of parents, siblings, occupations etc will make it easier for someone to recognise the family.

Also, have you checked the 1901 and 1911 census records to see if there were any descendants living in the area in the early 20th century? You can do this here:

Perhaps, you could try placing an advertisment in a local newsletter/bulletin board in the area to see if there are any connections still in the area. I have found a website for Aghalurcher parish where you may be able to do this, or at least find out what media would be best to use.

It's possible your Terrence was my Michaels brother or son.

I have been researching my McManus roots off and on for years.  Furthest back I get is to my 2nd great-grandfather, Michael McManus, born 1800, one record said in Cavan.  He married Julia Sheeran (sp?) in Ireland and they immigrated to Canada 1844, with one son who had been born in Ireland.  The son's name is listed differently in records as Timothy or Ted or Thadeus.  Very similar to names you have. 

They lived in Canada about 10 years (3 children born there).  They then moved and settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA. 

I have a death certificate for Terrence,in Milwaukee Wisconsin, 1891.   his spouse is Maggie (no maiden name, McCaffrey?) but his DOB as estimated 1845 is what is off.

My great grandfather Daniel McManus was born in Milwaukee 1857.  It;s possible my McManus's were from Cavan or Femanagh.

I would be interested in your thoughts.
