Denise, I appreciate you contacting me so quickly. I have research that was completed in Ireland in 1996 but at that time we did not have any luck finding my Grandfathers birth certificate. I have a applied for dual citizenship with the Foreign Birth Reg. The birth certificate is the most important, but the only missing document. I appreciate any help that you can offer.

Sue:
Can you provide the name of your grandfather and his parents names if you have them plus the approximate year of birth? Do you have the county? I will share your message with Denise.

My grandfathers name is Edward McTigue.
His parents are Michael McTigue and Winifred McLoughlin. They married in Drumshanbo church on 17/11/1898. Michael's father was Peter from Sradina. Winifred's father was Patrick McLoughlin from Ardcollum in the parish of Murham. My grandfather, Edward McTigue was born on October 20, 1909. In Stradrina, County Leitrim.
A distant counsin here in the US found Edward McTigue listed in the census in 1911. It was recorded in Carrick on Shannon, Volumn 3 page 48, film #101072. He is listed as 1 year old in that census.
We still have some very distant family in the Ardcollum area on the McLoughlin side. If you're familiar with the area, "the Bin Man" is Joe McLoughlin. He also owns a large diesel mechanics shop and a recycling business. He or his sister, Una McLoughlin McEvoy, (she lives in Drumshanbo in Joe's old home, her email unamcevoy@hotmail.co.uk, this is new info to me) might be of some help, although I may have heard that Joe might have passed in the last year. I am not sure. Infact the property that Una lives on is across the street from where my grandfather lived with his grandparents. He helped them with their farm.

Sue:
I located the civil birth record for Edward McTigue. see sixth record at the link. I believe you need the long form certificate for this record to include with your foreign birth citizenship documentation.

Roger, what I see below is a form to pay for a copy of a birth certificate. I will provide what ever you need when you find the information on Ed McTigue. Thank you

I appologize for the confusion. The first time I saw your message I was on my phone and could not see the form information. I will follow the instructions. I am also at a place that does not have good internet so I can't open the birth certifate link, but I will keep trying. Thank you so much. Is there any expense that I should cover for you? I will certainly be donating to this group. I had lost hope.

The record I located is freely available on the www.irishgenealogy.ie When you apply for your foreign birth citizenship you need the long form version of this record. See https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/birth_family_relationships/regist…; Last time I looked the fee was 20 euros for the long form. The fee may have increased.
