My great great grandparents, Michael Dodd Troy (born abt 1798) married Johannah O'Morrissey (born abt 1796) in 1826 and emigrated to Canada in 1826. Six of their 9 children were born in Ireland before leaving for Canada. One of their daughters, Catherine, was born on Aug 14, 1837 .
I am attempting to add to my information about them pre-emigation.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking at church records in Dromcolliher for more information? Catholic records for the area do not begin until 1830 so unfortunately you will not be able to find Michael and Johanna?s birth records if they were born in the parish or their marriage record. However, there may be some useful information in the children?s birth records such as the names of sponsors.
As you can see from the above link copies of the records are available at Limerick Genealogy. If you would like to contact them here is their email however a fee may apply: research@limerickgenealogy.com
Have you checked in the Tithe Applotment Books for any record of the two families? These are land records compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland :

Some other websites that you may find useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.
Kind regards,
