As you likely know (I have put up a similar reply on ancestry.com), the family lived in the Boherduff/Tonbaun area (townlands) but emigrated to to the U.S. The house locations can still be viewed (a lovely area of the parish). How sure are you on the Sept 1871 dob? I have the parish births here and I can't see it.
While John Miskell lived at Boherduff c.1855, and Ellen bought her house and lands off Clanricarde in 1890, the family were gone twenty years later (Margaret and daughter Ellen were there in 1901 and gone by the 1911 census).
Likewise, James Miskell lived in neighbouring Tonbaun townland and Edmond bought his land (in 1888 off Samuel Rodgers). Again while on the 1901 census (Edward, wife Mary, with Bartley Donoghue Labourer), they all were gone in 1911 bar Donoghue.
