Hello,

I have Murphy relatives in Fermanagh from the above places. I am trying to find out as much as possible about them and if there are some family members that are still local. My great grand-father was Bernard Murphy and his wife Susanna (nee O'Neil).

    Hi Patricia,

Thanks for the speedy reply. Apologies for not giving you more information to work with.  My great grandfather and grandmother would probably have married around the 1860's (cannot find marriage registration). Bernard and Susanna Murphy (O'Neil).
    Their children were:

Edward (1865), Maria Anna (1867), Thomas(1869), Bernard (1872), Patrick (187?), Catherine (187?) and James (1877). They were all born in the Parish of Currin, Gartnacarrow (Wattle Bridge) Fermanagh.

I do not know Bernard or Susanna's date of births. Bernard died on 20/5/1911.(?76yrs). Susanna died1884.(44yrs)

The family are registered on the census at Gartnacarrow in 1901 and 1911. The farm passes to Edward Murphy (son). When he dies in 1925 (single). It seems to pass on outside the family.

I know their son James went to Scotland. My grandfather, Thomas married Ellen Mcgarvey from Drumeena in Ballyhaise, Cavan (1912). I know that their family lived in Drumgramph when all their children were born. Their baptismal certificates say Parish of Currin, Scotshouse.  Thomas moved from Drumgramph to Annie Bridge but I don't know when that was, he died there in 1942. I know Thomas and Ellen's family and about their lives.

If possible I would like to know more about The family history. The church they would have attended for births, marriages and deaths and graveyards where they would be buried.

Is there any information on Bernard and Susanna's other children? I realise that this could be tricky as there are a lot of Murphy families in Fermanagh with very similar first names.

Also if there are any other O'Neil connections.  I would be grateful for any information.

    Regards,

    Polly.
