I am looking for information on my father, Daniel Joseph Jordan. He was born in 1879 in Enniscorthy, and moved to England near the end of the century. His father Daniel Jordan was a bricklayer. Can you please help? Thank you.

  • Hello Mary, I am looking at old queries that are not answered and there are 23 Jordons registered in the Enniscorty district from 1878 to 1880, no Daniel and no father Daniel in the baptisms or son either.  You can view the reocrds here for free, sign in and click on civil, district Enniscorty.

    I did find a Daniel born in 1881 to a father Daniel, mother Hana (Hannah I assume) Hara (Usually O'Hara) but in Limerick so the other side of the country, there are a few siblings too, also a Daniel Born in Cork but you can look yourself.

    Bit of a puzzle as to a baptism etc, they might chance not registering but the fine was prohibitive.
