Hello, I am seeking the birth or baptism of a Myles Murphy born about 1806 in Kinsale.   I do not know who his parents are, I do know that he moved to England in the 1830's possibly if not before that, he was a Shoemaker, and he was also a witness at the wedding of a Ann Murphy alias Johanna Murphy in June 1841 in Limehouse, London, England......Johanna Murphy is the daughter of a Dennis Murphy, occupation Shoemaker, because her marriage certificate states her age as that Of Full Age I do not actually know how old she was when she married and I have been unable to find her or her husband on any record in England after their marriage, her husband's name was James Withers and he was a Widower, the couple had no children born in England, so I have no idea what happened to them, but hoping to trace Myles Murphy and hoping his father may also be Dennis Murphy the Shoemaker, hoping someone may be able to help in some way, thank you..   Linda

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I searched on www.irishgenealogy.ie  (Church Record TAB) and did not find a Myles Murphy baptismal record in Co. Cork up to 1820. The Kinsale RC records have a gap. They start in January 1806 but stop in July 1806 and resume in 1815. So if Myles was baptized in this gap period a baptismal record will not be found  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0073   No luck with Johanna either.

You may want to add Myles' story to our XO Chronicles site  https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

I would also consider autosomal DNA testing.
