Hi my name is Rosemary and i have been tryng to find my great grandfather family

I know my great grandfather was born in new Zeland  in 1883 but apart from that i can't seem to trace

him further than that i do know  his parents or maybe grandparents went from Ireland to new zeland

my great grandfarher's name was Charles Henry Carroll  i have been told the ancestor that traveld from

Ireland to new zeland dropped the O that would have been infront of the name

    Unfortunately, you do not have enough information for us to try to search and find info on your family. In the 19th century, Carroll was a very common surname found in all counties. Looks like the ancestor you are looking for was born pre-1840 and we would need to know his name and likely his parents names to see if a baptismal record was available.

    Have you considered DNA testing?
