I am gathering information for a relative that will be going to Ireland in November.  One person she would be looking for is family oif Mary Sheridan born June 2 1838 or 1839 in Monaghan County, Ireland.  No mention of a Parish was in her obituary.  She went to America when she was about 20 years old, lived in Towanda, PA where she marrieed Lawrence O'Heran on 17 Sept 1865.  If she went by the Irish naming pattern, she only had one daughter and named her Margaret.  and she 4 sons (in their birth order) were John James, Frank, Edward and Lawrence Patrick.  So does that make her mother's name Margaret, and her father's name Frank? I have no idea what paris she was in and can find no other information on  her.  Can you help me?

She and her husband eventually moved to Flandreau, Moody County, SD and that is where she died in 1907.

The subscription site Roots Ireland has two Mary Sheridan baptismal records around 1838-1839 in Co. Monaghan. Keep in mind that not all RC parishes have records back to 1840 so if the Mary Sheridan in your message was baptized in one of those parishes, a record would not be available.

Mary Sheridan baptized June 15 1836 Magheracloone RC parish father Patrick Sheridan mother Mary Sheridan

Mary Sheridan baptized June 19 1837 Errigal Truagh RC parish father Bernard Sheridan mother Mary Sheridan

NOTE ususally the maiden name of the mother was listed rather than her married name so possibly both mothers were born Sheridan.
