I recently learned that I may have relatives from Ireland.

John Nevil,  birth 1723 and death 08 Sep 1779.  I believe he was buried in the Dangan Cemetery in Dangan, County Cork.  His wife was named Margaret Walsh.

His son was James Nevills, birth 1761 and death 1797.  I believe he was also buried in Dangan Cemetery.  His wife was Anastasia Flynn.

His son was William Nevill, birth 24 Dec 1791 in Quarry Cross Roads, County Cork.  Death in 1858 in New York State.  His wife was Dorothy Brown who was from the United Kingdom. I do not know when they were married or where.  William would be my great-great grandfather.

Our family plans to visit Ireland in August 2021.

Sincerely, Betty Carroll

Findagrave findagrave.com      does have records (no photos) for the burials of John Nevil,  James Nevil and also a Thomas Nevil 1764- April 25 1789 likely a brother to James?

You did not mention the religion but I assume they were Roman Catholic. The baptismal records for Killeagh RC church do not start until 1829.

Keep us posted about your trip. Hopefully, the Covid-19 situation will have greatly improved by then.

  • Roger,

Thank you so much.  It is exciting that I do have distant relatives in Ireland.  I will keep you posted about our travel plans to Ireland next August.  As a side note your website help connect my husband's famiy back to Ireland.  In fact we had a reunion with our Irish cousins and our American cousins in August 2018.  I tried to upload a photo of the reunion but the file was too large.  Keeping my fingers crossed that we will be vaccinated by then and our travel plans will  not disrupted.

    Regards,

    Betty Carroll
