Roger & Michael O'Donnell , siblings from Kilbehenny, Limerick got sentenced to transportation to the Antipodes in 1840s for entering into set to w peelers who were in throes of confiscating cow from elderly widow neighbour , They were either sons or nephews of my great x 3 grandparents  ,  Darby O'Donnell (1780-1888) and Eleanor Maunsell(1790-1880) . Any light shed on the O'Donnell siblings gratefully received ! Cheers , Tim Murphy

Baptismal records for Kilbeheny parish start in December 1824 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0269   I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located four baptismal records with parents Darby O'Donnell and Ellen Maunsell/Mansell/Mansfield. They lived in Bawnbrack which I believe is the current Brackbaun in Kilbeheny civil parish.  No info on Roger but you had him born prior to when records are available. Looks like Michael was a son of Darby and Roger was likely also a son.

Michael September 7 1828  mother Ellen Mansfield

Edmond May 23 1830 mother Ellen Mansfield

Alex April 8 1832 mother Ellen Mansell

Terence September 7 1834 Ellen Maunsell

  • Cheers, Roger. much appreciated. Now I'll go to Tasmania BDM to see if they can shed amy light on either.

Anecdotal Family stories have Michael die in Launcestion, Tas but as for Roger, I know not. He may have wended his way back home  once freed.
