Looking for any information on the O'Bryhim family. An ancestor, Joseph (?), was born in Lurgan in about 1730. Thank you!

  • Hi Shawn,

First of all I will have to congratulate you on getting back that far in your family tree.  The spelling of the surname is unusual, in so far as I have not come across it before.  I searched for it in Roots Ireland as it is the only collection of online records that might have it listed, however the search returned the result 'The surname that you entered ('O'Bryhim') is either misspelt or it does not occur at all in any of our databases'.  I am guessing it may be a variant of O'Brien etc.  I think the best course of action would be to contact:

    Email: cavangenealogy@eircom.net

They do charge a fee, but they would have access to other family trees and documents unavailable to us at IrelandXO.  Best of luck with your search and I would be pleased to know how you got on.
