Searching for information on an O'Meara family from County Tipperary, but have no specific locational data except for affidavits attesting that the father died on 15 Aug 1843 in Birr (Parsonstown), King's County (County Offaly). However, in America, the surviving members seem to claim Tipperary as home.

Father: John O'Meara (abt. 1800 - 15 Aug 1843, Parsonstown, King's County)

Mother: Mary [probably Gaynor] (abt. 1803 - 1868, New York City)

Son: John (abt. 1832 - abt. 1877, NYC)

Son: Timothy (abt. 1834 - 1863, Tennessee)

Daughter: Mary (about 1838 - 1894, NYC)

The widow Mary and her children immigrated to New York City, reportedly, between 1850 and 1855.

Any help, of course, is very much appreciated. Go raith maith agaibh.

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located three baptismal records (so far) for children of John O'Meara (Mara) and Mary Gaynor.

John Mara baptized May 22 1831 father John Mara mother Mary Gaynor RC parish of Lorrha in Co. Tipperary  Lorrha RC parish is in the northernmost part of Tipperary near the Offaly border.

Timothy Mara baptized August 19 1833 same parents Lorrha parish  They lived in Abbeville townland in Lorrha civil parish

Johanna Meara baptized August 1 1842 same parents Lorrha parish  Location shown as Lorrha

There is a February 28 1836 baptismal record for a Mary Mara with father John Mara but mother Mary Guinan (as transcribed). I looked at the actual parish register and I can see that the record could be Guinan but also could be Gaynor so I think this is the reocrd for the Mary you listed.  RC parish Lorrha

I did not locate a marriage record.
