Hi Looking for any info regards my Gt Gt Grandparents who came from River Chapel area of Wexford ,,,,,, Edward O'Neill who married Jane Redmond. Any info regards Births, Deaths and Marriages within the family .......

I know of 3 marriages of 3 of their children who all married in Dublin, Anne in 1870, Edward Jnr in 1876 and Peter who is my Gt grandfather in 1884. I can see their father Edward Snr's profession was a Stewart/Steward as its recorded on each of their wedding records. Be great is someone down that way would have more info???

Very Best Regards

I did not find the marriage record for Jane and Edward. On the subscription site Roots Ireland I did find five baptismal records for children of Edward O'Neill and Jane Redmond. The RC church was Ballygarrett. Two of the records showed Raheenbeg and two others showed Ballynagran  as the location.

Daniel Neill baptized July 30 1843 father Edward Neill mother Jane Redmond

Mary Neil baptized September 28 1848 father Ned Neil mother Jane Redmond

Jane Neil baptized February 12 1851 father Edward Neil mother Jane Redmond

Peter Neil baptized March 14 1853 father Edward Neil mother Jane Redmond

Edward Neil baptized May 7 1856 father Edward Neil mother Jane Redmond

Let me know if you have any questions.

The 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Wexford shows an Edward Neill in Raheenbeg townland in Killenagh civil parish.

  • Roger Many thanks again this is super findings ..........

Daughter Of Edward Neill and Jane Redmond,  Anne Neill was married on the 16th January 1870 to a Henry Payne in Clondalkin Co Dublin ..... it says on the wedding record she was 23 years of age at time of marriage.

and from your findings of dates for her siblings I went onto NLI church records and took a guess by the date of the first date for Daniel Neill 1843 and I went backwards in the years of marriages in Ballygarrett and found the marriage of Edward Neill and Jane Redmond which was 28th August 1842.

We can't thank your enough for your help todate......

Are you based in Roscommon yourself Roger?

Great that you found the marriage record. I searched on Roots Ireland and FindMyPast and neither site had the record.

Actually, I live in Maryland. My grandmother emigrated from Ballaghaderreen to Philadelphia in 1906 and she lived in Castlemore parish. So when I signed up as a volunteer I was assigned the Castlemore user name.
