Looking for information on a May family the immigrated to PEI, Canada in the early 1800.
James May born c1790 Ireland and his wife Ellen (maiden name unknown)
They had I believe six children William, Bridget, Michael, Matilda, Johanna and Ellen.
Not sure if all children where born in Ireland. According to Canadian census records, Bridget is listed as born in PEI in about 1822.

Hi, really difficult to get information at that remove and if you do without parents names there is no certainty. YOu can see for free on this site surname distributon at various periods but there are a lot of May's with a concentration in the Mayo area. https://www.johngrenham.com/surnames/
I searched 1780 to 1800 and got 4, 3 in Dublin and the church records are free online but this is just chance as so many records do not exist in this period. You can search Dublin church records here for free, click on church and enter Dublin, there are only 3 counties under church and civil is much later, sign in but free.
