Hello! I’m seeking the parents of Richard Nagle (my 6th great grandfather), born c. 1744.  He emigrated to Baltimore, Maryland around 1761.  He served in George Washington's army during the Revolutionary War.  Died in 1837 in Cambria County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Mary Catherine Baum. He may have been born in County Cork. Possibly a direct descendant of the Sir Richard Nagle.

  • Dear MGotherman:

Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome.

You should try to find out as much information as you can about Richard Nagle through the Revolutionary War Records and the pensions information which is availble through Ancestry.com.  If you don't have access, you can go to a local library as many of them have free Ancestry access.  The pension information and records may give you further information about Richard and where he came from.

In addition, you might also consider creating an Ancestor profile for Richard Nagle on the XO Chronicles feature which is located at the top of this page.  Please be sure to include any and all information that you have.  These profiles are widely read by all our members and you may find others researching the same individuals and/or familiy.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Kind regards,

    Jane
