Patrick McCallum born 1861 Co Derry (parish unknown). Father Thomas McCallum. He taught in St Patrick’s Portaferry Co Down where he drowned at the age of 52. He was married to Mary Tracey - I don’t know where she came from. Any information would be fantastic.

This looks to be Patrick & family in 1901. His wife was born in Co. Antrim.

Patrick died 7.2.1913 at Derry, Portaferry, from exposure to the cold. There was an inquest. (The papers may be in PRONI).

The couple married at St Pat’s in Belfast on 25.1.1886. Both had Belfast addresses, and Mary’s father was dead.
The on-line records for St Patrick’s only go to 1880. However the church should have later records. They might give both Thomas & Mary’s mothers names plus details of their parish of origin.
I also noted a death for Patrick Joseph McCallum aged 22, on 10.5.1913 at Knocknagow, Portaferry. Informant was his brother Frances McCallum also of Knocknagow.

Hi Eleyn that is my grandfather and his son in Portaferry. I have all those records. It is where in Derry (his parish) that I would like to find. He was a teacher and I thought I would be able to find something from education records but to no avail. Thank you for your help.

Not all school attendance records have survived (or were kept in the first place). Where they do exist for Co Derry most are held in PRONI in Belfast. They are not on-line and someone needs to go in person to view them. But if you don’t know what school your ancestor attended, it’s a needle in haystack. This link shows you what records exist, parish by parish
