Patrick Roach and Ellen Kiely, dau of JOhn Kiely and Catherine Daley, immigrated to New Brunswick Canada abt 1835. By 1836 they transported to Boston on the schooner Congress with sons John, Henry, James Bernard and Patrick Ambrose. They would also have a son Edward T. They settled in Boston.
James Bernard, a plumber by trade, was my 2nd gr grandfather and married Honora Kelliher, dau. of William Kelliher and Ellen Troy. James and Honora had Ellen, Bernard, Mary Bernadette, William, Catherine, James Leonard, Agnes Theresa and John Augustine. James Leonard was my gr grandfather.
James Leonard married Margaret Ryan, dau of Thomas H. Ryan and Margaret Harkins. James and Margaret had James Bernard Roche, my grandfather.
I found one record, Patrick Ambrose's daughter's death record that lists his birthplace as Cork. Otherwise I have found not one record to place this family in Ireland.
I have checked the church records and found what appears to be several of the births of Patrick Roach and Ellen/Helen Kiely in Ballylongford but am not sure it is mine and the names are so common.
I searched the Forester Insurance records and found Edward T. Roche's application and packet but it doesn't mention any place in Ireland.
