Sean:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located a marriage on Roots Ireland in 1865. The marriage was held in the RC church in Shanagolden. Looks like Patrick was working in England as a prison warder. Alice's maiden name was also Naughtin. See transcription of the civil record below which includes the names of the fathers. Alice lived in Deelish townland in Kilmoylan civil parish not far from Shanagolden.
I looked at the 1900 USA census record for the family and it appears the family emigrated later that year and the children were all born in the USA. The 1900 census showed nine children but only five living in 1900.

Thank you for the information, Roger! I can't wait to share this with my sister, Maureen. Can you imagine being an Irishman working in an English jail in 1865? I will be giving that a lot of thought. I am immensely grateful for the information from you. I think next year I will be able to visit Ireland again and take a look at the county and townlands they came from. That would mean a lot to me. Warm regards, Seán
