Looking for family history - my father travelled to Rahan twice and traced our family to what is now known as Buckies Mill - his last trip to Rahan was in 1995. Family records are in Parish church records. Am looking to find unknown name of Payne and his family history. His father's name was William Payne. Contact: Wendy Williamson, Calgary, AB, Canada. email: phantasma7@shaw.ca posted March 2013

There was a William Payne in Derrycooley Rahan in 1911 - would that be your family. William was 11 years old in 1911. I am from Rahan and there are no Paynes in Derrycooley now but there are Paynes in Tullamore

Thank you so much. Yes, I believe that William Payne was related to me. I'm also searching for any records of his parents - as this is my direct line. Unknown Payne married Unknown female. This is William's parents. William is a sibling of my ggggg grandmother.
Unknown Mr. Payne and Unknown Spouse had the following children (my ggggg grandparents)
William P. Payne - Married Rebecca Savage
Anne Margaret Payne - married Thomas Holmes (my gggg great grandparents)
My father, John Kenneth Williamson travelled in 1995 to Offaly Ireland and was able to find the original family farm, now called Buckies Mill.
I would be very interested in being connected to any of the Paynes in Tullamore. My sister and I will be travelling to Ireland from Canada in the spring of 2014 and it would be great to somehow connect. I have also connected with another Payne whose family immigrated to Australia - also her ggggg grandparents.
