Only two RC parishes in Co. Roscommon have records back to the late 1700s, Athlone (1789) and Boyle (1793) so you won't find any baptismal records for Eleanor if she was born in 1788. Elphin records start in 1808. I did search on the subscription site Roots Ireland but the earliest Eleanor Doherty baptismal record in Roscommon was in 1822 and the earliest marriage record was 1876.

Do you have any other information. I assume Eleanor emigrated?

I have some info on other ancestors from Elfin (Connacht?) Roscommon Ireland

Eleanor O'Doherty did not emmigrate. Her husband

Matthew Moran born 1782 their daughter

*Ellen Moran born 1806 died 7-11-1881 Montreal Quebec Canada her husband

*Peter Walsh born 1806 his daughter

*Mary Walsh born 1829  her husband

*Michael Nulty II born1821 died 12-28-1861 Waddington St. Lawrence New York USA

*all 4 emmigrated to Canada

Actually, I live near Baltimore Maryland.

I can't find any baptismal records for children of Matthew Moran and Eleanor O'Doherty. There are records in Elphin for children of Matthew Moran and Honor Cryan.

I looked at the Tithe records for the 1820s/1830s and the only Matthew Moran records are for the Matthew Moran who married Honor Cryan and another Matthew Moran down in Athlone.

Hi Roger,

Were you able to find any records on the others that I mentioned above? They were all from Elphin. I am going on a cruise in May and expect to go to Galway for one day and I will try to get to Elphin. Any suggestions for me? I asked for a volunteer to help me, but so far none in that area.
