Hi, like many others interested in our Irish ancestry, I am traveling to Ireland summer of 2023 and would love to locate any distant relatives. Im hoping there are some remaining distant relatives in the Quinlan family. (even Ryan or Dillon)
I am searching for the family of my 2x great grandmother, Mary Quinlan (married name Flynn) with a baptism date of May 5, 1838. It has the baptism place as Moneygall, Tipperary and Offaly Ireland. I know Moneygall borders both Offaly and Tipperary county. Her parents were Malick/Malachy Quinlin and Mary Dillon. Malachy Quinlin was baptized Sept. 1813 in Clonoulty, Tipperary( Diocese Cashel and Emly). His parents were Tim Quinlan and Mary Ryan. My 2x great grandmother, Mary Quinlan emigrated to Bolton, England. I think her family went with her. She married Michael Flynn in 1862 (I have her marriage record from England) and then she immigrated to New Jersey, USA.
Malachy had several brothers that may have stayed behind in Ireland but I can’t find any info to see if they had descendants that stayed in Ireland (Michael born 1804, John born 1819 and Harry born 1816). I did find an Obit. For a Dan Quinlan on google who died recently; it lists Moneygall, Offaly, Tipperary. It also lists surviving relatives. I wonder if I am distantly related.
Thank-you for any help tracking down any direct descendants of Tim Quinlan and or Malacky Quinlan still in Ireland. I have searched Ancestry. Com with no luck.
Many thanks in advance,
Debbie Colson-McCarthy

Hi Debbie, is this the page you saw for the Baptism of Mary....... Baptised 5th May 1838?
02479/01, Moneygall - Catholic Parish Registers at the NLI
Did you notice........Mary was a twin to Margaret? (If they were not twins and were Baptised on the same day their birth dates would have been included)
To the right of the sponors names is the townland name where they were from.....Ballinakill.......this is the map.ballinakill offaly - Search (bing.com)
In the Tithe records Ballinakill comes under Dunkerrin.
The Tithe Applotment Books, 1823-37 (nationalarchives.ie)
Do you know if any children were born before Mary in 1838?
