Hello, my mothers maiden name was Quinn.Her father was Thomas Quinn born 1897 Dundalk.Thomas parents were Charles Quinn and Mary Gray [ Charles may have been married previously to a Rodgers as Thomas had a sister called Annie Rodgers].Charles had brothers Thomas, Peter, Joseph and sisters Catherine and Rose Quinn

   Charles settled in Armagh [ Newry / Portadown].My mother was born  in Belfast

my great great grandfather was Peter Quinn.He married  Catherine [Kate] McDonald /McDonnell.Peter was born in Dundalk in 1826. His parents may have been Bryan Quinn and Ellen McArdle [who married in 1824]

any information on this family appreciated - it would be nice to hear from other descendants

    The marriage record for Charles Quinn and Mary Gray 1n 1891 indicates that both Charles & Mary were single (Bachelor /Spinster).

    The family are living in Dundalk in 1901 (Census detail). Charles listed as a Sailor on Marriage Cert was absent.

                 thanks for the reply.I think it may have been  Mary Gray that married twice, but it must have been after 1911 when her husband Charles Quinn died because they had a daughter called Elizabeth born 1911 in Newry A family story is that Charles may have died at sea ? He may have been buried in Drumcree Cemetery with Mary Gray and Annie Rodgers ?

    They moved to Newry between 1905 and 1908  because they had a daughter called Susanne [known as Dolly] born 1905 in Dundalk and a son called Peter born in Newry in 1908
