My 3X great-grandfather was Thomas Potts b. abt. 1790 and 3X great-grandmother was Elizabeth Breen b. abt. 1795. They had 4 sons and possibly more children with births ranging between 1823 and 1831 so likely married by 1823 or earlier. Family lore says they came from Enniscorthy, but I have been unable to find any records in Ireland. I have documents that show them in Ontario, Canada by 1832 as tenant farmers and by the 1850's they had moved on to Michigan where they purchased farm land. The four boys were named James, John, Thomas and Patrick Potts. They were Catholic. Any help appreciated!

Joyce:
I looked on two subscription sites: Roots Ireland and FindMyPast and did not find the marriage record or the baptismal records for the children. Likely the events took place in an RC church which no longer has records back to 1830 and earlier. Enniscorthy records are on Roots Ireland and records go back to 1790 so likely they were not from Enniscorthy.
Have you considered DNA testing?
