I am trying to search for information on my maternal great grandfather Richard Joyce (or Joice).  He was born in Tuam abt 1849 and emmigrated to US; settling in upstate NY,  sometime in the 1870s.  It would have been after May of 1872 as we have the letter of recommendation from the Dalgin Millbrook Estate signed by (first name not legible) Birmingham.  Richard was a horsegroom, as we understand.
