I am seraching for the parents of Rodger Reynolds born about 1870. Came to America in 1891. Death certificate list his father as James and mother unknown. This information was provided by his wife. There are no children by the name of James and his first born son was named Martin. He also had a sister Mary born about 1874 who came to America in 1896. Gort is given as the place where they are form on ship lists.  The US census give his birth year as 1870 (March 1870 in the 1910 census). He died in Louisville Kentucky in 1915. His death certificate and ship records also place his birth in 1870.  Mary's 1874 birth year is from ship reocrds.

    Looks like parents are James Reynolds and Margaret Flynne - DOB for Roger Reynolds was 25 APR 1869. 

    I couldn't get the birth location but result was first one on list by requesting birthplace of Gort, Galway Co., Ireland.  I will look again using the pilot site and may have a birth place.  This is from FHLC film 101187.

  • Just a question, Rodger's estimated date of birth was 1870. However, there is also the Rodger who was born in April of 1867. Baptism was in Gort. His father was named Martin, mother was Mary Walsh. Could this be the Rodger we are looking for? Rodger's first born, son, was named Martin. This keeps with tradition with the naming of sons after the grandfather. And, we know Rodger was from Gort. I am just posing the question. Maybe Martin Reynolds instead of James Reynolds was the father.
