    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Did Michael and Rose stay in Ireland? I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find any baptismal records for the couple. I also did not find any baptismal records for Michael or Rose. Muckno RC baptismal records start in 1835.

  • Hi Roger,

I believe Michael died in Ireland. Rose came to US (New York) in April 1872 with granddaughter Mary McNally. She joined her sons Michael, Patrick  and daughter Catherine O'Hare in Roxbury, NY. I think they came to US 1870-1871.

I am planning a trip to Ireland in August and was hoping to get some leads in finding where Michael was buried, or info on any relatives still in the area.

Not sure what other information you would need to help me.

    Thanks, Eileen

  • Dear Eileen:

Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

I see that there is a Michael O'Hare in Griffith's Valuation who occupies a holding at Tullintlisny townland in the civil parish of Muckno.  Do you have any other information about Michael O'Hare and/or Rose Carragher?  What information did the sons give when they became naturalised citizens?  If you have any other information, please add it to this thread.  We will try to help you further.

    All the best,

    Jane
