Scott family, Knockbreda Parish

Griffiths Valuation of 1863 shows William Scott as having plot 18 in Breda which was a 27 acre farm. Today that whole area has been built on and is now part of Belfast’s suburbia.  The modern Cotswold Ave roughly follows the road into where the farm was.

Probate abstract:

The Will of William Scott late of Breda County Down Farmer who died 17 July 1883 at same place was proved at Belfast by Hugh Busby of Braniel in said County and William Henry Scott of Breda Farmers the Executors.

The will itself can be viewed on the PRONI wills site. It mentions wife Betsey or Beckey (can’t make it out), daughters Catherine Grey, Elizabeth Cogheran, Mary McClure, Rebecca Houston & Jane Scott. Also sons William Henry Scott & George Scott.

This looks to be the farm in 1901, though William Henry seems to be Henry and Betsy/Becky is Elizabeth. However it’s the only Scott farm in the townland:
