Searching for ancestors of Cornelius Kelly born c.1820, wife unknown. Also for James Collins, wife unknown.

Had son Edmund born c.1835/8 - other siblings unknown.

 

Edmund married Mary Corbett 22.10.1857 at Roman Catholic church of Saint Annes, Mile End New Town, district of Whitechapel, in the county of Middlesex. 

Edmund was aged 22, Mary 20.

Edmund's father Cornelius is listed as a labourer.

Mary's father James is listed as deceased and was a steward.

Their witnesses were Timothy Collins and Julia Collins.

 

In English census Mary listed as coming from Limerick.

 

Can anyone help please, would be very greatful.  Thank you.

    Thank you for your message.

     

    It may be quite difficult to find information on these people without a more specific location of origin. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or place name, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

     

    Perhaps you could try searching for them at https://familysearch.org/   This is a huge database of records compiled by the Church of the Latter Day Saints. If you can find any of the people you have mentioned in it, it may give you a place name.

     

    You could also try searching for the fathers? in Griffith?s Valuation, which is a land survey dating from 1848-1864. However, this gives no genealogical information so if multiple results are returned it will be hard to confirm which are relevant to your search. You can search it here:

    As you know that Mary came from Limerick it may be an idea to contact the Limerick Genealogy Centre for assistance. However, there may be a fee for their services. Here are their contact details:
