Hello,
I am searching for my ancestors from Ireland. The marriage of Elizabeth Andrews 1847 - 1890 to John Riley 1841 - 1905 they had 11 children Elizabeth, Edwin, Archibald, Lena, Jane, George F, Louisa, Sarah, Mary H, Ruth, John.
When John Riley married his surname was written as Ryley This changed to Riley some time later.....John's father Michael was also spelt Ryley. I cannot find any more information on him or Elizabeth Andrews....any help to further my search would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Elenor,
The spelling of a name may be down to the person to wrote down the information, rathe than them changing their spelling etc. unless you have their signatures.
Now I would like you to check the information you have.
Do you have John's death & marraige cert & Elizabeth's death cert, & also look at the birth certs of each of the children, you say you have little information on them, all of these will tell you where they lived, when each of the children were born & most likely's Johns occupation.
Also look at Census transcriptions, I have sometimes found that they may be living with friends/relatives, if with relatives, I find that I have been lucky with finding a younger relative, which may take me within the timescale of civil registrations, that helps me track down their county or parish.
Did these ancestors leave Ireland, if so do you know when?
