I am looking for any living relatives in Gort, Co. Galway.  I have the following information from the 1901 Census of Ireland:  My Great Grandfather was Fergus Farrell, (40 in 1901), my great grandmother was Mary Farrell,  (34 in 1901), my grandmother was Norah Farrell aged 7 in 1901.  Norah had 3 brothers in 1901 census, Christopher, Martin and John Farrell.  I was hoping to find any relatives still alive in Gort today.

  • I am Norah Farrell's granddaughter.  I live in the States.  Did you know her?  You can also find her in the 1911 census in Gort, in a portion of Market Square, as a servant.  Do you know when and where she went to in England?  Have you other brothers and sisters that you know of?

  • Hello Jo Ann, thanks for your post;  I am Norah Farrells, grandson, she was my fathers' mother;  I didn't know her because she put my father out for adoption when he was a baby, he didn't know her either.  I don't know when Norah moved to England but as my dad was born in the mid nineteen thirties and  she was in Ireland in 1911 she must have moved between 1911 and the thirties.  My father has discovered a brother still alive in England, his name is Tony Sole, he lives in Hertfordshire, England.   You and I are first cousins, so hello!!  (We are probably about the same age, I am 54);   You can email me on villafan@gmx.com, I live in Norfolk, UK.  Hope to hear from you soon.  Paul.
